Postdoctoral Fellow - Cardiac Cell Signaling
The laboratory of Dr. Robert Harvey in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Nevada, Reno (https://med.unr.edu/directory/robert-harvey) is looking to fill two postdoctoral positions. Highly motivated individuals interested in studying cardiac cell signaling mechanisms are encouraged to apply. Current projects include studies investigating the cellular and subcellular mechanisms involved in regulation of cardiac myocyte function by the autonomic nervous system and their role in generating arrhythmias associated with sudden cardiac death.
Salary is commensurate with experience. Health and retirement benefits are included.
The Department of Pharmacology is in the School of Medicine on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. It is home to a small, but well-funded and highly interactive group of cardiovascular researchers with access to state-of-the-art facilities.
Reno, NV is located on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, not far from Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, and San Francisco, which offers many unique recreational and cultural opportunities.
Ph.D. in physiology, pharmacology, biophysics, or related field; excellent communication skills (both written and oral); and experience with one or more of the following techniques: patch clamp electrophysiology, fluorescence microscopy, FRET-based live cell imaging, intracellular Ca2+ imaging, fluorescence correlation microscopy, and/or molecular biology.
