Financial Aid Advisors
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for Financial Aid Advisor/Senior Financial Aid Advisor for the Student Financial Aid and Scholarship department. The Financial Aid Advisors advise and counsel our diverse student and parent population on all aspects of financial aid programs, eligibility, budgeting, financial planning strategies, and academic progress and share responsibility for delivering excellent customer service as a member of a team of advisors. The incumbents process the aid applications, package financial aid, administer aid programs, and monitor student eligibility within the context of federal, state, and institutional regulations. Specific duties may be assigned in the areas of Federal Wok Study & Regents Service Program, Financial Literacy, Loan Management, Outreach & Customer Service, Professional Judgement, Return to Title IV, Scholarship Management, Verification, or Special Programs. The positions report to the Director, Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Comp Grade B - Advisor
The Advisor is responsible for managing and/or executing assigned program(s) from above and assists the office leadership in fulfilling the unit's major functions.
Comp Grade C - Senior Advisor
The Senior Advisor is responsible for managing and/or executing assigned program(s) from above and assists the office leadership in fulfilling the unit's major functions. The Senior Advisor may supervise other staff/students workers in the department.
Required Qualifications
Comp Grade B - Advisor, Financial Aid
- Bachelor's Degree and two years of related work experience or Master's Degree and one year of related work experience.
- Related Experience: Related to the position to include one year of experience in higher education.
Comp Grade C - Senior Advisor, Financial Aid
- Bachelor's Degree and five years of related professional experience or Master's Degree and two years of related professional experience. Related Experience: Related to the position to include one year of financial aid experience in higher education.
Schedule or Travel Requirements
- Variable work schedule.
- Some travel may be required.
Compensation Grade
- B/C
- Candidates will be hired at the level that is comparable to their experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
