Programmer IV sought by NV Energy in Las Vegas, Nevada, 40hours/week.
Evaluates systems and programming needs of business and operating departments. Interviews users and determines system requirements and sources of required data. Supports the development of business cases and recommends system solutions. Utilizes technical expertise and gathered business and system requirements to support request for proposal (RFP) processes, as needed. Designs and develops systems, modules, and/or approaches to meet business requirements.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with strategic technology decisions, security standards, and corporate policies and guidelines. Knowledgeable in Object Oriented technologies and programming techniques. Develops code that applies industry best practices to consider system performance and security. Creates appropriate technical artefacts to support development that follows the defined software development life cycle (SDLC) guidelines. Designs and develops application functions to interface with other integration platforms like service oriented architecture (SOA) tools and practices.
Develops necessary application diagrams and logic flowcharts. Understands application development methodologies such as waterfall, agile, and/or bimodal development. Performs and supports all levels of testings as defined by the SDLC guidelines. Serves as the technical lead on projects to set guiding direction for all technical resources. Provides training and mentoring to other IT staff and end-users. Maintains technology expertise and keeps current with evolving technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming or Engineering, or foreign equivalent and 6 years of related programming experience 4 years of PL/SQL experience.
4 years of experience in Pro*COBOL.
4 years of Unix Korn and/or Bourne Shell scripting experience.
3 years of experience in C/C++ programming languages.
3 years of experience in Pro*C.
2 years of experience with Oracle Forms.
Will accept three or four-year degree.
