Director of Development
MISSION: The mission of the Long Island FQHC, INC. is to increase access to comprehensive primary and preventive health care and to improve the health status of the community, especially for the underserved and vulnerable in a financially responsible manner.
The Long Island FQHC, Inc. (Long Island Federally Qualified Health Center or LIFQHC) is a non-profit healthcare organization with 7 health centers, providing primary care and preventative medicine in the following locations in Nassau County: Roosevelt, Elmont, Hempstead, Freeport, Oceanside, and New Cassel/Westbury. In addition, the LIFQHC has 3 school-based health centers, WIC offices (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) in 3 locations, and a Health Home Care Coordination program. As federally qualified health centers, we serve the individuals in our communities, providing enhanced services, expanded hours and reduced prescription pricing, while raising the level of care. Objective:
LIFQHC is looking for an experienced Director of Development to establish the organization's fundraising efforts and build relationships with individuals and organizations to secure philanthropic support. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Development will set and achieve fundraising goals, maintain knowledge of fundraisers' interests, and cultivate relationships with fellow employees and volunteers. The Director of Development will be an active participant in fundraising events and maintain oversight of the organization's events and social media presence.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work with senior management team, governing board, and staff to define the organization's goals and strategy for fundraising.
- Build and manage Development efforts which include recruiting volunteers, guiding staff involved with marketing and public relations, coordinating internal and external events, and data entry/gift processing.
- Furnish regular progress reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Foster a culture of philanthropy and ensure that fund development is executed in keeping with the organization's values, vision, and mission.
- Establish a balanced mix of donor sources and fundraising programs to attract and retain donors and fundraising volunteers.
- Establish performance measures, monitor results, and evaluate the efficacy of the fund development program.
- Maintain accountability and ensure compliance with all regulations and laws, as well as the code of ethics for fundraising professionals.
- Help to recruit, train, and motivate fundraising volunteers.
- Identifies and builds relationships with new donors while maintaining relationships with existing donors.
- Obtaining financial support from individuals and organizations.
- Implements strategies to secure donors and contributions in support of the organization.
- Provide oversight of the fund development program, monitor development activities, and address issues that may hamper growth and success.
- Direct oversight of all fundraising and special events.
- Generates development materials such as grants and case statements.
- Coordinates fund development, contributing to strategic planning, and addressing development issues within the organization.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, non-profit management, or related field required.
- Master's Degree Preferred.
- Four years of sales or business development experience required.
- Experience with Not-for-Profit Organizations required.
SALARY: $80,000.00 - 90,000.00 Annual
