 MEDICAL ASSISTANT

We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant that has worked in primary care preferably with adults. It is a one physician office specialized in Internal Medicine.

The position is for full-time employment with benefits that include medical insurance, a retirement plan, paid vacation days and bonuses. We are looking for someone who is a great communicator, organized, detail oriented, a good listener and has some customer service experience.

The following are some of the skills and qualifications required for this position:

• Have attended a Medical Assistant program and have a certificate of completion.
• Have previously worked in a medical office in front and back office for at least two years
• Obtain and record accurate vital signs,
• Prepare patients for examinations and or procedures
• Perform pulmonary function test, electrocardiograms, visual acuity and audiometry
• Assist the physician with examinations and minor procedures
• Have some knowledge in medical records
• Be able to check insurance verifications
• Have some knowledge in performing authorizations and referrals
• Knowledge in administration of medications and injections
• Phlebotomy, lab experience and specimen handling
• Answering phones, verifying and scheduling appointments
• Electronic Medical Record experience
• Dressing changes and basic wound care
• Knowledge in HIPPA guidelines
• CPR and first aid knowledge
