Packaging Supervisor

PACKAGING SUPERVISOR

The Las Vegas Review-Journal is looking for an experienced Packaging Supervisor. This position manages all
aspects of the Packaging Department including staffing, equipment maintenance, insert operation,
commercial bindery operation, mail delivery, warehousing and deliveries to internal and external customers.

Job Responsibilities
● Responsible for staff development
● Manages all shipping and receiving activities
● Must be flexible to change direction at the last minute when necessary
● Responsible for the quality of all products during shifts supervised
● Maintains effective communications with all departments involved in a specific job
● Follows all safety procedures and reports any and all accidents in a timely manner
● Displays a respectful and professional attitude while supporting a teamwork environment

Requirements
● Ability to manage a large staff
● Bilingual communication is a plus
● Knowledge of large-scale newspaper packaging/insertion operations
● Solid understanding of an insert machine including staffing and maintenance requirements
● Basic understanding of mailing equipment and USPS regulations
● Able to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and verbal
● Understanding of bindery equipment including folders and cutters
● Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
● This position is based in the Las Vegas area
● Must be able to pass in all relevant ways a drug screen and background check
