ELECTRICIAN
Following safe and proper procedures and with minimal
supervision is capable of performing required building and
equipment electrical functions including diagnosing causes
of malfunctions, installation and maintenance of sophisticated
systems and general electrical maintenance work.
Education,Training & Experience:
Education and training equivalent to vocational or high school plus
completion of a recognized 3-4 year electrical/electronics training
program. Four (4) years experience at a minimum is necessary to develop
skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Following safe and proper procedures and with minimal supervision
is capable of performing required building and equipment electrical
functions including diagnosing causes of malfunctions, installation
and maintenance of sophisticated systems and general electrical
maintenance work.
2. Receives instructions from supervision which could be in several forms:
verbal instructions,blueprints, or hand written sketches.
3. Diagnosis,repair and installation requires work on all types of electrical
systems and equipment such as motors, transformers, switches,
switchboards,breakers, combustion safeguards,pneumatic tube system,
air conditioning,refrigeration systems, interior/exterior lighting systems,
clock system,public address systems and conduit.
4. Extreme care and close attention must be adhered to at all times so
serious injury to self or others is avoided.
5. Is responsible for monitoring building and equipment worked on for proper
safety. Informs supervision of any unsafe conditions which cannot be corrected.
6. Position requires pushing,pulling of lifting heavy objects ranging up to
approximately 60 lbs.
7. May be required to perform other duties within maintenance dept.
8. May be called upon to work late evening, early morning or other
unscheduled hours to perform necessary emergency repairs.
