Industrial Gearing Design Specialist
Lyman, SC - Design and develop custom Industrial Gear Systems, from gearmotors and heavy industrial gears to complete drive-based automation systems, based on customer requirements; Perform project planning and application related evaluations; Create manufacturing drawings of Industrial Gear Systems components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD in coordination with suppliers; Create customized project dimension drawings; Perform order-based technical analyses and approvals on supplier drawings and order acknowledgements; Perform cost evaluations; Generate order based technical documentation for Industrial Gear Systems; Generate and maintain parts lists; Produce manuals and operation instructions for complete Industrial Gear System packages; Coordinate manufacturing activities with Inventory and Order Fulfillment; Provide technical support to Industrial Gear Assembly. May require infrequent travel to customer worksites and/or overseas to the corporate affiliate companies. Travel expected to be less than 5% of time.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED and 48 months of experience as an industrial designer. Experience must include SolidWorks and AutoCAD design systems. Must have advanced understanding of SAP ERP system and experience with weldment design and welding techniques; advanced knowledge of power transmissions terms and design practices. Foreign educational equivalency acceptable. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
