Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County, a special district created over 35 years ago by Palm Beach County voters, provides leadership, funding, services and research on behalf of the county's children so they are born healthy, safe from abuse and neglect, ready to learn when they enter school, and have access to quality afterschool and summer programming.
CHIEF PEOPLE, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION OFFICER
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
We are seeking a Chief People, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer who will serve as a member of the organization's executive leadership team. As a strategic leader and facilitator, the Chief will partner with other leaders to cultivate a welcoming culture that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging throughout the organization.
The Chief will lead all human resources functions, developing talent management strategies that grow CSC's capacity, which are integral to our vision that every child in Palm Beach County is healthy, safe and strong. The Chief will provide transformational leadership to foster a positive organizational culture and spearheads innovative initiatives that support staff morale, learning and growth. In concert with the Racial & Ethnic Equity Core Team and the CEO, the Chief will set and implement the organization's overarching vision of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. This position drives organizational change, challenges the status quo and acts as a catalyst to help evolve the organization and set itself up for future success.
The incumbent will be at the forefront of innovative practices in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; organizational culture development; organizational design; and organizational learning and leadership development. The Chief will be adept at facilitating difficult discussions, shepherding change, creating and strengthening partnerships, and supporting the development of those skills throughout the organization's workforce. The work of the Chief is to co-create an inclusive culture that results in a deeply engaged and highly productive workforce.
Key Responsibilities of the Chief People, Diversity, and Inclusion Position
- Provides leadership in co-building the new People, Diversity and Inclusion Division. Ensures the appropriate structures, strategies, and systems are in place to accomplish the Division's vision.
- Ensures the appropriate alignment of staff to maximize performance and promote individual leadership behaviors.
- Oversees the review of business practices, employment and workplace systems, HR programming and initiatives to identify and remove barriers that impede an inclusive organization.
- Maintains an effective program of compliance with laws and regulations related to human resources by remaining current with employment laws and regulations.
- Creates organizational policies and structures that remove barriers and foster inclusion for all and demonstrates a strong commitment to equity and high expectations for every employee.
- Collaborates with staff at all levels as the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging subject matter expert to promote effective diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging strategies across the organization.
- Champions the transformation of the organizational culture by delivering strategies in which employees feel a true connection to CSC's mission and vision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Multicultural Studies, or related field.
10+ years of progressive and demonstrated leadership experience (related work and lived experience), including specific expertise in the areas of human resources and strategic DEI leadership;
2 years of senior level experience in the following areas of human resources: organizational culture change, talent management, and employee relations;
2 years of experience as a strategic DEI leader, advancing DEI across an organization;
SPHR or PHR certification required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the minimum requirements listed.
